Island Ilovik

photo by Nadir MavrovićIt also called the "flower island".

It's settled shout-east from Lošinj and is 5,88 square kilometers wide. Not far from the village there's a beautiful sand beach. The island's surroundings are rich with fish. Islands Ilovik and Saint Peter are geologically components of the island Lošinj. There are only 200 meters wide gate that keep them apart. The best known is Paržina cove. There are Roman ruins and some building material on the island.

The other island, Saint Peter, is known by many localities of growers, money and other ancient things. It all proves the islands are covered with very important edifices.

In channel, which devised Saint Peter from Lošinj, were found the fragments of amphora's (according to E. Imamović, Otočki ljetopis, No. 2, pg. 226.)
